AFLE Launch 2022

AFLE officially launched with a powerful evening that brought together educators, researchers, and policy leaders to celebrate and support women in education leadership. The event featured keynote addresses from Dr Kerry Elliott (Senior Research Fellow, ACER) and Ms Vicky Ward MP (Parliamentary Secretary for Education), who spoke to the importance of gender equity, leadership pathways, and system-wide change. It was an inspiring beginning to AFLE’s mission to elevate and empower women across the education sector.

Networking Event:
Principal Panel Discussion

AFLE’s Principal’s Panel networking event brought together school leaders from across sectors for an honest and energising conversation about women in leadership. Kay Peddle, Dani Angelico, Bethany Riseley, and Eryn O’Mahoney shared their leadership journeys, insights, and challenges in a discussion facilitated by Kendra Parker from the Academy of Teaching and Leadership. The evening offered inspiration, practical advice, and meaningful networking among women committed to leading with purpose and impact.

AFLE Inaugural Conference 2025

AFLE’s Inaugural Conference in 2025 brought together women from across the education sector for a day of inspiration, connection, and practical leadership development. Featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, the event focused on advancing women in education leadership and creating space for bold, inclusive change. It marked the beginning of a powerful movement—and an unforgettable day of learning and leadership.

Networking Event:
Hellenic Museum Partnership

AFLE partnered with the Hellenic Museum for an evening of history, art, and connection. Attendees explored powerful exhibitions celebrating trailblazing women in Greek history and mythology, followed by a thought-provoking discussion on leadership and legacy. The event concluded with networking drinks, bringing together women in education leadership to share ideas and inspiration.

Empower Hour Mentoring

Empower Hour was designed especially for women ready to step into or grow within educational leadership. Empower Hour offered one-to-one and small group mentoring with our inspiring member-leaders. Attendees got personalised, practical advice tailored to your goals, questions, and leadership journey.
